Batman V Superman: My Review

Many people didn't like the movie mostly because they do not follow DC universe in depth and thus didn't get the references. Followers of DC universe already know the characters very well. That's the reason why the characters weren't introduced in detail as the main story is about Batman & Superman. There would be separate prequels for introducing other characters, like an "Origin" story. Solo movies on Wonder woman, Aquaman, Flash and others would be coming soon.

Unlike reboots of Spiderman, Zack Snyder avoided the origin story as its unnecessary and it would be impossible to introduce every character in this movie. Superman was introduced in Man of Steel, everyone knows Batman, Wonder woman - daughter of Greek God Zeus is over 4000 years old, a follower of DC universe should know that. Her intention in this film is still unclear, may be it would be disclosed in her solo movie which is a prequel. There were many reference from comics/animated universe but they weren't taken as it is. The most important highlight of the movie was Flash sending Batman a message from the future where they already are a team, and tells him to find them in present, suggesting to build the team earlier. Also informs him that if Lois dies, Superman will go rogue.

From the visions of the future we see that Batman owns an army (like from JL alternate history), Superman has its own (like the Justice Lord). There is one more army which possibly belongs to Darkseid (due to the Omega symbol). This army had masks similar to the Talons from the new 52 comics series and wings similar to Darkseid's army.

Mostly, this movie was about a tussle between two superheroes with distinct ideologies and Lex Luthor adding fuel to their hatred turning them hostile towards each other. The only big blunder the filmmaker has done is by revealing most of the action scenes in its trailers. To those who don't follow DC universe in depth, can't help sorry. But the action scenes were good enough.

Speculative Hindu Temple Architecture: Modern style

India has a wonderful variety of Hindu temple architectures. Each style evolved from previous one during a particular era and under a particular cultural influence. Indian Mythical Creatures II

My earlier post “ Indian Mythical Creatures ” stated the similarities between the mythical beings of India and that of the western countries. Now I have found more similarities. These mythical beings are very commonly seen but we ignore them. Hollywood filmmakers still use these creatures in movies and hence they are part of the Popular Culture just like ware-wolf and vampires and witches. These are Griffin, Sphinx, dragons etc. They also had Indian counterparts as well. But as we have not preserved and presented them in movies properly these creatures and unknown. The European creatures and their Indian counterparts are as follows: Indian Griffin Griffin(European):- Griffins are partly eagle and partly lion with body of lion but wings and head of an eagle. These creatures were and still are used in emblems, coat of arms of European countries and also in stories and movies like Harry Potter series. Sharabha [ शरभ ]:-   This Indian counterpart of Griffin is mentioned in the Hi...

Ethnic Nationalism

A lot is heard about ethnic based separatist movements, like people of a particular region in a country having issues with people of other regions within the country. Most of the reasons are ethnic or cultural and the demands range from territorial autonomy to complete independence. Why does it happen? Well for that we have to go back in history. During the age of empires, the political boundaries were not limited to the cultural boundaries but depended on the ruler's imperial capacities. For examples: Maratha Empire had conquered and ruled states like Gujarat and Central India which were culturally distinct. The French Empire ruled Italy and Spain. The Japanese Empire briefly ruled nations in South East Asia and Korea. The British, well their rule was in every continent of the world. When concept of Nation-State emerged, it started changing political boundaries. Most common factor was language; kingdoms like Prussia, Saxony, Bavaria etc. joined to form Germany, as they a...
